A date is set for the most ridiculous fight in boxing history.
Floyd Mayweather, the greatest fighter of his generation, will exchanging blows in Feb. 2021 with YouTube star and celebrity boxer Logan Paul. What has happened to the great sport of boxing where side show exhibitions are becoming the must see mega fights?
We last saw Money May on Dec. 31, 2018 against Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition at the Rizin 14 event in Japan. The fight was a joke and Mayweather easily knocked out Nasukawa in the first round. But the difference between Paul and Nasukawa is that Nasukawa is an actual kickboxer and MMA fighter.
What commission is going to actually sanction this fight? I find it hard to believe that it's actually going to happen. Money May has an argument that he is pound-for-pound the best fighter ever, and he is entering the world of celebrity boxing. And at what weight class will this fight occur? Mayweather has never fought above the Junior Middleweight limit of 154 Lbs. and Paul weighed in at 199.4 lbs. for his Cruiserweight fight with KSI. What is this fight actually going to be? This nonsense shouldn't be allowed to happen.
